Overview of workshops
These workshops have all been tried and tested. They were written by one or more of our project partners, and tested by even more. All of these workshops have been run in at least two countries, and some have been run in five countries.
These workshops represent a resource that teachers can integrate into their own teaching material. The workshops are robust yet flexible enough to allow teachers to adapt the content to suite their own particular needs with respect to class size, student ability or curricula.
Where applicable students should first be allowed to investigate and explore the workshop material freely to familiarize themselves with the content. This will allow them to explore the possibilities offered by the material and share with their peers the discoveries they've made.
The workshop material is intended to stimulate the students' curiosity, and motivate them to learn more. It is hoped that this will inspire students to think creatively, interact with their peers and find novel solutions to existing problems. We believe that this method of semi-self directedself-directed learning will result in students have a more fundamental understanding of computing concepts which will allow them to solve problems in other unrelated context.
